Step by step

How To Flip a PDF

Mirror pages left to right or top to bottom — the quick fix for back-side-up scans and inverted prints.

  1. 1

    Upload your PDF

Drop in a document and its first page appears in the preview — the sheet mirrors instantly once you pick a direction. Files are deleted after 2 hours.

The Flip preview mirroring a page horizontally: the big letter R faces backwards and the “top-left corner” label has moved to the top right, all reversed
  2. 2

    Choose the direction

Horizontally mirrors each page left to right — the fix when a scan comes in back-to-front; Vertically mirrors top to bottom. The (?) bubbles explain each, and the preview on the left flips live as you switch.

Choose an option: the joined Horizontally and Vertically buttons with their question-mark help bubbles, the Pages box with its “Leave empty for all pages — e.g. 1-3,” placeholder, and the Flip PDF button
  3. 3

    Pick pages and run

Leave the Pages box empty to flip the whole document, or name ranges like 1-3,5 to mirror only those. Press Flip PDF — the mirrored pages come back as one ready file.

  • Mirror, instantly

The preview flips the moment you pick a direction — no run needed to check.

  • Left to right

Horizontally reflects each page — the fix for back-side-up scans.

  • Top to bottom

Vertically turns pages upside down when a scan came in inverted.

  • All pages or some

Leave Pages empty to mirror everything, or list ranges like 1-3,5.

  • Only the content mirrors

Pages keep their size and box — the ink simply reflects in place.

  • Private by default

No account, no watermark — and every file is automatically deleted after 2 hours.

Flip — frequently asked questions

Why would I flip a PDF?

Mirror printing on transparent film and scanning the backs of pages are the classics. Flipping mirrors the page horizontally or vertically — the text is untouched, just reflected.

Is Flip free?

Yes — Flip is free right here in your browser, with no watermark and no sign-up. Every tool on the site works the same way.

Do I need an account to use Flip?

No. Accounts are optional — they keep your credits, API keys and settings together. The tools work signed-out.

What happens to my file?

Every upload is stored under an unguessable id and deleted automatically after 2 hours. Nothing is listed, shared or emailed anywhere.

Can I run Flip from the API?

Yes — every tool has a REST endpoint. An API call for this tool costs 10 credits per file; browser use stays free. See the Plans & pricing page for plans and the API page for the endpoint list.
